Partnership between In-Core Systèmes and NorthVolt Labs is confirmed for in-line quality control in the manufacturing process of Li-ion batteries. The LineaVision solutions for battery applications will allow to rapidly and accurately evaluate the quality of the battery elements. Electrodes and separators quality is essential to ensure high capacity of storage, fast recharging and long-life cycle.
At this research facility, In-Core will contribute towards the industrialization of Li-ion battery cells before large-scale production.
Northvolt, the Swedish-based battery startup, will build the biggest European Battery Gigafactory, expected to start production in 2020. The target capacity will start at 8GWh per year with a final aim of 32 GWh of capacity one the entire factory will be completed in 2023.
